Aston Villa defender Narwan Ghrayib is urging manager John Gregory to move quickly and clinch a deal for his Israeli international colleague Haim Revivo. Gregory is continuing to pursue the £5million-rated Celta Vigo midfielder - and Ghrayib is confident he can make a quickfire impact in the same way as Benito Carbone, who signed last week from Sheffield Wednesday. Ghrayib said: ``Haim is a very good player, even a great one, and he can only benefit any team that he plays for. ``He is doing a great job now at Celta Vigo and if he came to Villa then I believe that himself and Carbone will make this team better. ``I know what he is like from the national side (Israel) and as team-mates with Maccabi Haifa. He is very good technically, is quick and can score a lot of goals. ``He is a big star back home and it will be a big boost to Villa if he came to us.'' Ghrayib, a £1million summer signing from Haifa, now believes he is ready for the demands of the FA Carling Premiership after taking time to settle in at Villa. The left wing-back was given his first taste of league action as a substitute in Saturday's draw with Wimbledon at Villa Park. He said: ``In the beginning it was difficult for me. I have been playing in all the reserve games, training for two months and have had to be very patient. ``But I've had to adjust to the English game and I feel fine now. The boss saw me in a couple of reserve games and he thinks now that I am ready for the Premiership. I also tell him that I think I'm ready now.'' |
