The Villa number 1, currently injured, was involved in a car crash in Chester yesterday. 

The victim was a female passenger aged 69 who has not been named.

Villa are backing their keeper, who was shaken but uninjured in the drama.  He has told to report back to Villa only when he feels up to it after this tragic accident.

James was looking to make a stake for a starting place tonight against Manchester United in the Worthington cup, missing for the last 4 weeks with a knee injury obtained during the Arsenal match.  However this seems very unlikely following recent circumstances.
