Villa keeper Mark Bosnich has urged fans
not to boo Dwight Yorke when he returns to Villa park on Saturday with
new team Manchester United.
Yorke left Villa 3 months ago for £12.6million, and the way the judas walked out on the club after 9 years, left Villa fans furious. Even Villa boss John Gregory said: "If I had a gun, I would of shot him", reacting to the transfer of Yorke this summer. However Villa keeper Mark Bosnich, who could next season be lining up for Manchester United, claimed if Villa fans made his life hell they would be 'pathetic'! He also said: "I've spoken to Dwight and he still has a lot of time for Villa and the supporters. "I know he doesn't want a big fuss made of him coming back but I think that booing him every time he touches the ball would be pathetic. "People should remember what he did for Villa over nine seasons and the supporters should give him a good reception. "Dwight is one of the best players the club ever had and I don't know what will happen but he'd be happy if there was mutual respect on both sides.'' Bosnich added: ``Dwight was promised he would be able to talk to United last season under a gentleman's agreement if things didn't go well for Villa - which they didn't. "Once that was said there shouldn't have been any problems. I can't see the problem now. Villa were compensated and are top of the league. It's time to let things lie. "But there is the added problem that fans don't like Manchester United because of their success." |
