Aston Villa central defender Ugo Ehiogu
is to have surgery after fracturing his eye socket against Newcastle
United last month.
He needs an operation to release the eye muscles in the fractured socket. The former England international was injured in a challenge with Alan Shearer during Villa's 2-1 defeat at St James' Park. Villa physiotherapist Jim Walker said: ``While Ugo has been able to stay fit, he needs the surgery to release the eye muscles. ``The injury means that he has been unable to move the eye and he has also suffered from double vision.'' |
