Collymore city switch unlikely (1 Feb)
Birmingham City's manager Trevor Francis has hinted that a move to sign the Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore on loan looks unlikely.

Birmingham's co-owner, David Sullivan, put the idea to Francis and is ready to match whatever wages Collymore earns at Villa Park.

``I wouldn't have thought that too much will come of this,'' said Francis.

``David has read, like we all have, about Stan's recent problems at Aston Villa and he said to me that whether it cost £20,000, £25,000 or £30,000 a week because it was a loan deal he wouldn't be bothered.

``He would love to see him playing for Birmingham City.

``I am not so sure. I like Stan as a guy but I am very reluctant for many reasons to bring somebody in like Stan Collymore.''
