Villa show Madrid they are no easy pushover (4 Mar)
Villa came away from Madrid with a one nill defecit and plenty of people certain they can over-turn it at the home leg next week.

A Vierri penaly just before the half time whistle was the only goal in the game in which Madrid threatened to run away with it in the first half, only to be glad for the final whistle to blow after immense second half pressure from Villa.

Joachim had two golden oppurtunites and Yorkie also had a very good chance 5 yards from goal and clear. Unfortunately Yorke's first touch was bad and Madrid were let off once again.

The penalty came when a Ath. corner was not cleared properly and a Taylor challenge brought penalty claims. Vierri put it low and to the right of Bosnich who very almost saved it, guessing the right direction and getting a hand to the ball.

Bosnich was clearly shown on television getting pelted with oranges, lighters and batteries and UEFA are set to take action against Madrid after the appaling behavour.

Villa fans were treated very unfairly stormed Villa secretary Steve Stride, with coaches belted with bottles and bricks, one coach having all windows smashed in.
