Aston Villa captain Gareth Southgate is battling to be fit for Villa's Saturday derby clash at home to Leicester City. 

The unfortunate defender has suffered his second ankle injury of the season, after being forced to come off at half-time on Saturday in the dramatic escape versus Portsmouth. 

After missing the last two games before Saturday (Spurs and Leeds) with the flu bug going round the Villa camp, he is desperate to get his season fully going - especially with Hoddle in preperation for his WC98 team
